Clearly the one of negative reviewers did not get this version of the book. The kindle version is not available for the 6th edition, which is the one that should be reviewed here.As for the price of the book, mentioned by the other negative reviewer, I agree it is a bit high; but it is worth it. Most good java college class learning books (ie books by Horstmann or the Deitels) cost around this much.As for this book, it is excellent! It uses BlueJ extensively and really gives a new programmer a solid background in OOP. I highly recommend it!
Starts off well. Then lack the ability to stay focused on the topic. The examples help.
The class I am taking is really good and uses this book extensively. I am happy that we are using a pretty new book. I paid a little more than this actually because I got it at my University Bookstore. Other reviewers seemed upset about the price which is just generally something that bothers me about the modern textbook industry but with a good rental option offered by Amazon and a pretty reasonable price for purchase this is probably one of the better deals this semester for me.
This is a paperback version, and not hardcover. Very disappointed in this considering the price charged for it.
This is a good book like the previous versions but to ask $200 for a kindle Version? While more than 50%of the book is the same as previous version? (It has a lot of the same examples)That's a serious rip-off
